Reblogged from Walk to Sierra:
This is Heather Wilson. I maintain this blog. I am on the executive committee for The Walk to Sierra. I have been involved with the Walk since the first year – 2009. This is not about the Walk or the good that we try to do. This is the story about why I am so involved with the Walk to Sierra.
This is a post I wrote on my charity's website. It is important to talk about child abuse, so we can try and end it.

I tried to leave this comment on your fit and fab post, but couldn’t do it without logging in to facebook…and I really hate to have links to my personal profile floating out on the ‘interwebs’ Any way, I had something for you to look at
Have you played with LifeKraze?? (http://lifekraze.com/) It’s a local company that has launched a social website that is entirely lifestyle focused. You post your thoughts and accomplishments, and can reward others for their accomplishments with points, encouraging comments, or simple high fives. Each time you give points, you get some in return, and companies like Rock Creek offer discounts and rewards based on points accumulation. It’s a good way to put yourself around active people, and get a little validation for the work you’re doing.

No, I haven’t. I will have to check it out! Thanks for the tip!

Heather, I love your courage! It took a lot to write this I know, and you did an eloquent job of telling your story. Thank you for sharing it.
Although, not the place for this discussion, Emily, if you’d like to leave a comment on a site that has Facebook comments, there is a little box that you can uncheck for comments NOT to post to your Facebook account. Facebook comments, allows for more authentic style comments, reduces on spam, and reduces writers time on moderating and sifting through faux comments. For me personally, I wanted to make fit fab, a social community not one of exclusivity.
Sorry you had a time, feel free next time to un-check that box to leave a comment.
Heather
Thanks for the words of encouragement, Chante! And thanks for the tip about the FB comment thing. I couldn’t figure it out either.
